Histidine is called a semi-essential amino acid (protein building block) because adults generally produce adequate amounts but children may not. Histidine is also a precursor of histamine, a compound released by Defense mechanism of body cells during an allergic reaction. |

Acute Overdose: High levels of Histidine can lead to stress and even psychological Malfunction of mind or bodys such as Uneasyness and a Malfunction of mind or body characterized by twisted view of the real world by a greatly reduced ability to carry out once daily tasks and by abnormal ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.
Chronic Overdose: None
