Thuja grows to a height of 30 feet. It has dark brown male flowers and yellowish- green female ones. The leaves are small and flattened, containing a fragrant turpentine, while the cones have blunt scales arranged in three rows. It can be found in eastern North America, from Pennsylvania northwards and in Europe.
